Mint Green is the Colour of the Month

There’s a new star in the home décor space that you should really meet. This calmative hue can transform your home into an undeniable sanctum of calm, whilst upping its glam quotient by several notches. You can use it across living spaces, right from your bathrooms to your kitchen, and it’ll light your home right up.

So without further ado, meet Mint everybody. Whether you want to accessorise your home with a few baubles in this colour, or go all out and give it a full-fledged facelift, mint has got you covered!

If you’ve already got a central colour theme in your room that you don’t want to disrupt, throw in some mint accent pillows in various designs to provide a wonderful contrast. Or maybe you could go for a single mint green pouffe pillow as an accent to a corner chair.

Thinking of donating that ancient piece of furniture to the carpenter? Hold that thought. Get your creative hat on and whisk out your paint palettes. This is a fabulous way to add a splash of colour to a room, especially those with plain old eggshell-white walls. First sand and buff your piece of furniture to get rid of splinters and bumps and then run a solid mint coat over it. Leave the handles in their natural colour or run over them in black or gold.

When you’re considering your lighting, how about hanging a mint green porcelain pendant light over your dining table or breakfast bar? This proves to be a welcome addition to a single tone or multi-coloured room in equal measure, whilst providing a warm glow on those winter evenings when you want to unwind with a quiet conversation over dinner.

Here’s an easy trick to perk up your photo frames! Pick the frames with wooden borders off the wall, and give them mint panels. This works really well if you’ve got frames with varying colour tones. The mint will work as a uniform thread that will bind all your frames together in a singular colour scheme.

If you’re in the mood to give your home a complete overhaul, throw on some painting gloves! Painted walls work especially well if you’ve got furniture in muted colours like ivory, beige or cream. Go for horizontal stripes, or paint your entire wall in a solid mint shade.

Nothing says spring like flowers, and there’s no better home for them than solid ceramic vases. Pick vases in shades of mint green, and intersperse them with vases in darker colours.

When you’re done with all of these, you’re sure to fall in love with every little corner of your new living space!
